LattaHarris, LLP Names Christopher Overturf New Managing Principal
LattaHarris, LLP, a premier CPA and business consulting firm in eastern Iowa, is pleased to announce that Christopher Overturf will take over as Managing Principal beginning January 1, 2023. Mark Penningroth, outgoing Managing Principal, will transition to Partner Emeritus status starting January 1, 2024. At that time, Penningroth will have practiced for over 43 years in public accounting exclusively out of the Tipton office of LattaHarris and its predecessor. Penningroth has been the managing principal of LattaHarris since 2014. During Penningroth’s time with LattaHarris, the Firm has grown from five offices to eight and has sought to be a leading firm relative to the use of technology.
Penningroth received his BBA in accounting from The University of Iowa in 1980. He is a certified public accountant, with extensive experience in income tax, estate tax, financial planning, and business performance services. Penningroth has worked extensively with many progressive closely held row crop and swine producers in the Midwest. He has spoken at numerous agricultural producer symposiums and to fellow CPAs on the subjects of tax planning opportunities and financial reporting for Ag Producers. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Iowa Society of Certified Public Accountants (ISCPA).
Overturf received his BA summa cum laude in Accounting from The University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls, Iowa. Some of his certifications include Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA). He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Iowa Society of Certified Public Accountants (ISCPA), National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA), and Cedar Rapids Area Estate Planning Council. He has been in the accounting industry since 1997 and at LattaHarris, LLP since 2008. He currently works with individuals and businesses for tax planning and preparation, accounting, financial statement preparation, estate planning, business valuations, and general business consulting.
